Our Open and Affirming Statement
In response to God’s love, we have entered into a covenant with each other. In doing so we have made three important commitments:
•We have promised faithfulness to God.
•We have pledged acceptance and respect to each other.
•We have committed ourselves to reaching out with the courage of our convictions in the cause of justice, liberation and equality for all.
As we reaffirm these promises today, we declare ourselves to be an “Open & Affirming Church” welcoming people of all sexual orientations into the full life and ministry of this church. We make this declaration because it is in keeping with our church’s tradition of accepting and welcoming people of all genders, races, nationalities and physical abilities. (Adopted 1993)

SUNSET CRUISE

The SUNSET CRUISE is on Tuesday, August 12th.
Stewardship Committee announces the the Third Annual Sunset Cruise
Departs: 6:15 pm – sharp! Parking fee included
Embark: Sayville Ferry Terminal
Narrated historical tour travels westerly on Great South Bay
All inclusive Dinner Buffet, Dessert and Coffee served at 8 PM
at the “Island Breeze” in Cherry Grove (Cash bar available)
(You may wish to bring a beverage and snack to enjoy during the cruise)
Return for home at 10:00 pm
Cost: $60 per person, $57 for seniors 65+
Children 12 and over welcome.

Our Congregation's 150th Anniversary

Our Congregation was founded on May 28, 1858 ~ We celebrated our 150th Anniversary recently and will continue to celebrate in a year long tribute to our History and hope for the future.

Prayer Shawl Ministry ~ We Care, We Are With You

Prayer Shawl Ministry - The "We Care... We are with You Prayer Shawl Ministry" was officially founded in the Vestry on March 7, 2008 in the Sayville Cong. UCC Vestry. The group will be meeting on Thursday mornings 10 - Noon in the Church Library.
There are also plans to organize groups for young people and an adult cottage meeting in the evening.
The prayer shawls are made with love and prayer for the comfort and sharing with others. Prayer shawls may be knit or crochet.
There is a request for supplies:Do you have any knitting needles or crochet hooks that you are not using? Members of all ages are welcome! Basic instructions are available for knitting or crocheting.
Those wishing to meet to work together,interested in lessons,or for help or more info, pleace contact Ann Walker thru the Church Office.
